New Product Reveal: The Natalie Bespoke Handbag

An artist of any platform has the ability to draw inspiration from most anywhere.   Fashion has intrigued me for that very reason especially when looking at the historical transformations of clothing and accessories.  Centuries ago, clothing was strictly for utilitarian purposes, influenced by migration to new lands. Humans constructed animal hides and vegetation into coverings for protection from the weather elements or to carry essentials for everyday survival.  With the introduction of new textiles and inventions for weaving and dying fabric, clothing began to represented rank, social status and wealth.

In the beginning of the 20th century, with the introduction of fashion magazines, and the influence of European designers the world was introduced to more embellished designs.  Even with the advent of two World Wars and the great depression, fashion has ebb and flowed with the times to satisfy the cravings of fashion aficionados.  When Haute Couture was introduced and celebrated among famed movie actresses and wealthy heiresses in the 1920s through the 1940s, creativity ranged from masculine wear to sexy hourglass dresses to accentuated busts and tiny waists.  Accessories consisting of fur stoles, arm length gloves, pumps with higher heels,  stockings held up by garters, either wide brim or pill box hats ( a woman of discernment always wore an embellished hat) and of course that single handle boxed handbag usually made with a frame.

Pictures of my mother in her teenage years and her mother and aunts, dressed for work or church carrying either black or white framed pocketbooks with a single handle represented femininity and sophistication.  The top handle handbag has such a classic look, and has gone through its own transformations throughout the last 100 years.  Leather being the main component of handbags, yet designers have experimented with other materials such as Lucite to create beautiful single handle designs.

Beau Satchelle is pleased to introduce the latest inspirational design, named “Natalie” originated from T. Michael’s desire to experiment with combining three types of leathers to create a bag for a professional woman who has particular outfits that would be topped off by an accessory that is considered a work of art.

The Natalie is hand-cut, hand-assembled and hand-stitched with hand-painted and hand-burnished edges created from a light tan Pandora Leather and accented with black genuine wild American alligator side panels and bottom; featuring flap and top handle overlays.  The interior is lined with soft black Italian suede.  The bag is adorned with gun metal hardware; elegant turn clasp, the feet to protect the bag’s bottom and the handle loops.  T. Michael added a suede Interior pocket for securing an average size cell phone.  To elevate the bag to a sassy nature is the removable tassel created from the same wild American alligator hide and a gun metal tassel end cap with chain and lobster claw attached. To keep this bag in beautiful condition, first and foremost, be conscious of where it is placed.  As any high end leather handbag, water can be an enemy.  Although, we use a protective leather conditioner, a raincoat keeps your bag safe from rain and a handbag valet protects this gem from sitting on a table or floor; away from food, beverages or chemicals.  Store in the dust bag provided when not in use and taking it to a professional leather cobbler to be cleaned is advised.

This bag can be ordered in a variety of colors in several premium leathers and alligator as well; in addition to a few options for the hardware finishes (gold, brass, silver, rose gold, and gun metal and even precious metals can be incorporated).  The design to delivery process takes approximately 4-6 weeks and Free Shipping in the USA.   -AJ
