A Brand New Year of Luxury

Welcome to our 5th year of our luxury lifestyle blog!   As the calendar turned over to 2020, our team put in place a gameplan for this blog to be more trans-formative, innovative, and a continued voice of authenticity.  We will work hard to entertain and educate by providing content, interviews, and our own anecdotal discoveries within the luxury market as both a business owner and consumer.

Greetings New Year and New Decade!  My goodness… what a period of time to be alive!  Opportunities for entrepreneurs are limitless!  Emerging brands have so many tools at their disposal to tell their stories to the luxury buyer who continues to search for the one different item or unique travel destination that no one or only few can claim.  The internet evens the playing field for small businesses to show off their wares, compete for exceptional services, and just be that annoying pebble in luxury giants’ shoes.

Opportunities to expose world class luxury buying experiences anywhere in the world have exploded as new high net worth consumers are entering the market, possessed with more awareness and perhaps obsessed with experiencing VIP treatment that separates them from the public.   Those events could range from: eating the dinner at a Michelin Star Restaurant that you prepared during a private cooking lesson with the renowned chef; or being a guest of a top sneaker designer with a pair of customized sneakers made as your parting gift; or hiring a private stylist for a luxury shopping day; or arranging a personal tour of a prominent museum.

And although the latest trend among higher net worth consumers are demanding more experiential gifts versus buying things; any luxury product brands worth their salt are creatively wrapping activities around buying their high end products which may consist of elite trunk shows, private fittings or scheduling exclusive meetings with industry specialists (i.e., to purchase watches or jewelry)

With so much global competition vying for discretionary dollars, discerning, savvy consumers seek referrals from family and friends along with using high end publications and websites for supporting research.  With that in mind, no level of business can rest on their laurels in today’s economy.  Whether awarded top steak house honors, the best destination ski resort, or even the finest whiskey made in the world, consumers are more educated, more opinionated and will spend dollars with entities who offer consistent, trusted first-class products and services.

Beau Satchelle’s position in the leather product space is even more of a niche.  Like  most handbag companies, we create beautiful handbags, build handsome briefcases, and our travel bags are masterfully constructed.  However, where we stand above many of our designer peers is our bespoke, hand-sewn process which results in an elegant statement piece to confidently carry knowing “I own the only one”.

Beau Satchelle replicates brands such as Rolls Royce who immerse clients in the design phase to ensure a personalized, one of a kind, hand crafted luxury on wheels.   Our initial consultation begins either at your home or office where we determine your profile as to the type of bag desired, your style and the functionality of the bag.  A second meeting will be with Master Artisan, T. Michael, to discuss the type and selection of colors of both interior and exterior leathers, thread and hardware.  A template is created for our client’s sign-off, and then a prototype is submitted for production where the leathers are hand cut, hand-sewn and hand-burnished.  Throughout the 4-6 week process, the client will updated with the ongoing progress.  The packaging of the piece is just as detailed by including its own dust-bag, custom box, and a signed certificate of authenticity.

With regards to our blog, the goal is to broaden our research and dig deeper to share more information, for instance, depending on your tastes,  contrast why a visit to one particular tailor for a suit versus another within the Midwest .   We will still span the globe to discover excellence whether in technological innovations or in craftsmanship, yet dedicating  more Wednesday blogs to tapping into the best of the best in luxury located in our Midwestern backyard.

For our clients and followers who prefer private communication, we will be rolling out a series of personal and ‘behind the scenes’ email newsletters in the near future.    Those who sign up for our “Insiders Newsletter” will read in-depth features on leather and exotics craftsmanship, updates on leather accessory trends, and be kept abreast of news and events concerning Beau Satchelle  (new leather luxury products, a more intimate look at the process of bespoke for clients and behind the scenes of our business).   Pending announcement very soon!

We are thrilled with our plans for the next 365 days and look forward to hearing feedback from you about our progress.  As we kick off this new year of blogging, have a listen to an uplifting YouTube video of the song “Feeling Good” written by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley.   Originally written as a triumphant show-tune for a 1964 musical called The Roar of The Greasepaint-The Smell of the Crowd covered by numerous great artists over the years.  However, in my humble opinion, no one can perform this song like the consummate, incomparable musical genius, Nina Simone who added her own inspired soulfulness to honor the joys and pleasures of everyday life.

What better way to honor the essential definition of true luxury.  Enjoy!   -AJ

You Tube Video of Nina Simone singing “Feeling Good”

Birds flyin’ high you know  how I feel

Sun in the sky, you know how I feel
Breeze driftin’ on by, you know how I feel

It’s a new dawn

It’s a new day
It’s a new life for me, yeah

It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new life

Ooh
And I’m feeling good

Fish in the sea, you know how I feel

River runnin’ free, you know how I feel
Blossom on the tree, you know how I feel

It’s a new dawn

It’s a new day
It’s a new life
For me
And I’m feeling good

Dragonfly out in the sun, you know what I mean, don’t you know?

Butterflies all havin’ fun, you know what I mean
Sleep in peace when day is done, that’s what I mean
And this old world is a new world
And a bold world, for me

Stars when you shine, you know how I feel

Scent of the pine, you know how I feel
Oh, freedom is mine
And I know how I feel

It’s a new dawn

It’s a new day
It’s a new life for me

And I’m feeling good!
